Prior to heading to the cape this summer I was doing a lot of pen and ink studies with the idea of translating them to pastel once we got to Brewster.  This is one of the studies that was completed in this way.  Stripping the study down to just the issues of composition and light - through the pen and ink process - helps me see the pastel process in a different way.
