While I continue work on the "Reading" paintings, some other things have been happening in the studio. I did a neighborhood painting as a commission last fall and it brought me back into this body of work. In December, my mom sold the house where I grew up. So, I created this memory-painting as a gift to her. I have two more cued up in this genre. It's so fun compressing space and discarding scale. The colors are just as I remember them. (Locals can find important points of interest such as High Rock, The Space Trolley, and of course, The Great Wall of China)
